India displayed strong resilience and composure to secure a thrilling five-wicket victory over England in the fourth Test match held in Ranchi, extending their impressive streak of 17 consecutive series wins at home. With this win, India now holds an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series, with the final encounter scheduled in Dharamsala on March 7. The match witnessed a tense battle as India, chasing a target of 192, faced a notable collapse in the middle order, with England's bowler Shoaib Bashir making a significant impact by taking two quick wickets to reduce India to 120-5. However, India's lower order, led by the resilient partnership between Shubman Gill (52 not out) and Dhruv Jurel (39 not out), steered the team towards victory with an unbroken 72-run stand for the sixth wicket.

Earlier in the day, India's openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal provided a solid start, building an 84-run partnership before encountering a brief hiccup when England's skipper Joe Root dismissed Jaiswal for 37. Despite the middle-order wobble, Rohit continued his fine form with a composed 55, guiding India closer to their target before falling to Tom Hartley. England's spirited efforts to stage a comeback were thwarted by India's determined batting display, ultimately leading to the host's triumph in Ranchi. This victory marks a historic series loss for England under the leadership of head coach Brendon McCullum, as India once again showcased their dominance on home turf.
