Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra leads the board with 87.03 on his first attempt, 87.58 on his second attempt and 76.79 on this third attempt in the men's Javelin Throw and won Gold for India in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. Germany's Johannes Vetter got a distance of 82.52 but the second, third attempts did not make it to the final eight. Neeraj Chopra got a foul throw in the fourth and fifth attempts. Neeraj Chopra is the first ever Indian to win gold in Javelin Throw in Olympics. Neeraj Chopra made a long throw of 86.59 to make the final in his group in the first attempt.

Neeraj Chopra will take the gold medal in the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics. Neeraj Chopra competed with Belarus’ Pavel Mialeshka, Belarus’Aliaksei Katkavets, Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch, Czech Republic’s Vitezslav Vesely, Finland’s Lassi Etelatalo, Germany’s Julian Weber, Moldova’s Andrian Mardare, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, Romania’s Mihaita Alexandru and Novac Sweden’s Kim Amb. Neeraj Chopra is the second Indian to win an individual Olympic gold.
